Get out and Learn something NEW!!

We had the AMAZING opportunity to get away and go Snowboarding &/or Skiing a couple weeks ago. When I was a teenager, I LOVED learning how to ski. Never got the chance when I was in Utah or Colorado, and with 5 kids, didn't know if I really wanted to come up with a few thousand dollars to try something they could possibly all HATE.

YEAH for the amazing people at the Showshoe Resorts in West Virginia. More specifically, the wonderful workers and volunteers at the Adaptive Sports Center and their desire to reach out to the Wounded Warriors and their families.

Now I know:

Even though I gave it a good shot, I myself - NOT ment to snowboard - but at least I tried. I did swap out for skis and happily made it down the slopes in one piece.

Randy & Robbie are absolute naturals at snowboarding -- and Curtis & Craigan only had a slightly slower learning curve, then they too loved our time there.

Zacky loved learning to ski, and eventually stopped staring at the toes of his skis and learned to look UP. Had tons of fun after that.

Jason, inspite of his tumbles, took EVERY opportunity to get out there and Snowboard ALOT. He and the older 4 blasted out many many trips down the runs in the Silver Creek area of the mountain.

Getting away was so VERY needed. AND NOW -- We all know that saving for another trip to enjoy the slopes will be money WELL SPENT. I've got to say - I'm SHOCKED that ALL of the kids took to it all as well as they did. Randy and Craigan spent the most time out there, getting in all the time they could, and Randy was on the intermediate slopes the second day.

We had THEE greatest instructors ever. (though I'm not sure I actually got photos of ALL of them because between the 7 of us I think we had 11 different folks help us over a 2 1/2 day period. FUN FUN FUN!!!!!
